The Massachusetts Institute of Technology recently held a conference on the Bitcoin Blockchain - the MIT Bitcoin Expo 2017. After sponsoring last year’s inaugural Bitcoin Expo, Bitfury was proud to support the event again this year as the platinum sponsor.
Bitfury employs talented developers and engineers who focus on developing new technological solutions that will benefit the entire Bitcoin Blockchain ecosystem. Previously, the Bitfury Group was one of the main supporters of the MIT Bitcoin Developer Fund. Valery Vavilov, CEO of The Bitfury Group said: “It is important that we as a community support the brilliant minds who work on further development of the innovative Bitcoin Blockchain technology.”
The Bitcoin Expo was held on March 4-5, 2017. It presented the blockchain projects being carried out at MIT, and demonstrated the difficulties and challenges faced by developers of distributed ledger technology in their efforts to popularize blockchain for more widespread use at different levels.
Among the conference’s many featured speakers (Joe Krug from Augur, Shinichiro Matsuo from the MIT Communications Laboratory, Gregory Sanders from Blockstream) was Bitfury’s own Alex Shevchenko. Shevchenko, the Lead of Exonum, gave a speech titled "BFT Anchoring" in which he discussed the process of anchoring to the public blockchain.
